Keasey was once a small community in Columbia County, Oregon, in the United States. Today, there are no buildings or signs left of the original settlement. It used to be a busy place, especially because of its post office.

The Story of Keasey

Keasey was a place where people lived and worked, but it is no longer an active community. It was located in the state of Oregon.

How Keasey Got Its Name

The community was named after a settler named Eden W. Keasey. He was an important person in the early days of the settlement.

The Keasey Post Office

Eden W. Keasey was also the very first postmaster for the Keasey post office. A postmaster is the person in charge of a post office. The post office was open for a long time, from August 5, 1890, until 1955. This means it served the community for over 60 years!

Why Keasey Disappeared

There are no buildings or remains of the original Keasey community left today. This is because the Portland, Astoria & Pacific Railroad was eventually taken apart. It seems Keasey was closely connected to this railroad, and when the railroad was gone, the community slowly faded away too.
