Keiadjara facts for kids
The Keiadjara (also called Kiyajarra) were an Aboriginal Australian group of people. They lived in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.
About Their Name
The name Keiadjara was also used by other Aboriginal groups, like the Pitjantjatjara people. They sometimes used it to refer to the Wenamba people.
Their Traditional Lands
The exact size of the Keiadjara's traditional lands is not fully known. However, we know they lived in the southeastern part of the Mandjildjara territory. They were also south and east of the Putidjara people.
Their land stretched east from a place called Kolajuru. This spot was about a week's walk from Tjundutjundu on the Canning Stock Route. A researcher named Ronald Berndt said the Keiadjara lived between Kumpupintil Lake and Lake Carnegie.
