Keisuke Funatani (born January 7, 1986) is a Japanese football player. He plays as a Midfielder, which means he helps both defend and attack for his team. Funatani has played for several clubs in Japan, including Júbilo Iwata, Sagan Tosu, Mito HollyHock, and FC Maruyasu Okazaki.

Keisuke Funatani's Football Journey

Keisuke Funatani started his professional football career in 2004. He joined Júbilo Iwata as a young player. He spent many years with this club, playing in the top Japanese league, called J1 League.

Playing for Different Clubs

During his time at Júbilo Iwata, Funatani also played for Sagan Tosu for a short period in 2008. This was a loan, which means he played for Sagan Tosu temporarily before returning to Júbilo Iwata. Later, he joined Sagan Tosu permanently in 2012.

After playing for Sagan Tosu, Funatani moved to Mito HollyHock in 2013. He played many games for this club in the J2 League, which is the second-highest football league in Japan. He was an important player for Mito HollyHock for several years. He left the club at the end of 2018.

In 2019, Keisuke Funatani joined FC Maruyasu Okazaki. This club plays in the Japan Football League, which is another important league in Japan.

Representing Japan's Youth Team

Keisuke Funatani also had the chance to represent his country. In June 2005, he was chosen to be part of the Japan U-20 national team. This team played in the 2005 FIFA World Youth Championship. Although he was part of the squad, he did not get to play in any matches during the tournament.
