Keith Morrison's Career
Early Days in Canada
Keith Morrison started his career in the 1960s. He worked as a reporter and news anchor at local TV stations. These stations were in places like Saskatchewan, Vancouver, British Columbia, and Toronto, Ontario.
In 1973, he joined CTV's Canada AM. He read the news and also worked as a reporter. He even helped produce some shows. While at CTV, he won awards for his reporting on important world events. From 1975 to 1979, he was a reporter and sometimes a substitute anchor for CTV National News.
Morrison then moved to the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) in 1982. He was a substitute anchor and the main political reporter for The Journal. This was a nightly news program. He also helped create and co-host Midday, a noon news show, from 1984 to 1985.
Moving to NBC News
In 1986, Keith Morrison moved to Los Angeles, USA. He became a news anchor for KNBC-TV. In 1988, he joined NBC News. He worked as a reporter for NBC Nightly News and the Today Show. He covered big events, like the protests in Tiananmen Square in 1989. He also made special documentaries for NBC.
Back to Canada and Then Dateline
Morrison returned to Canada in 1992. He became a co-anchor for Canada AM on CTV again. He also hosted The Editors on PBS. He was a substitute anchor for CTV National News.
In 1995, Keith Morrison went back to NBC. He became a correspondent for Dateline NBC. This is the job he still holds today. He even appeared as a newscaster in an episode of the TV show Seinfeld.
