Kemi Adeosun was born on March 9, 1967. She is a very important person in Nigeria's history. She used to be the Finance Minister of Nigeria. This means she was in charge of the country's money matters. She also led the board of a big bank called the African Export–Import Bank (AfreximBank).

Early Life and Education
Kemi Adeosun was born in London, England. Her parents were from Ogun State in Nigeria. Her father was a civil engineer. Kemi was the third of four children in her family.
She studied Economics at the University of East London. Later, she earned a special diploma. This diploma was in Public Financial Management from the University of London. She also took many courses to improve her professional skills. In 1994, she became a Chartered Accountant. This means she was officially qualified to manage finances.
Kemi Adeosun's Career Journey
Kemi Adeosun started her career in London. From 1989 to 1990, she worked at British Telecom. Then, she moved to Goodman Jones. There, she was a senior audit officer until 1993.
She became a manager at London Underground in 1994. She also worked at Prism Consulting. From 2000 to 2002, she was a Senior Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers. In 2002, she joined Chapel Hill Denham Management. She became a managing director there in 2010.
Working for Ogun State
From 2010 to 2011, Kemi worked at Quo Vadis Partnership. After that, she was chosen for a big role. She became the Commissioner of Finance for Ogun State in 2011. She held this important job until 2015. She helped Governor Ibikunle Amosun improve the state's money situation.
Becoming Nigeria's Finance Minister
In November 2015, President Muhammadu Buhari appointed Kemi Adeosun. She became Nigeria's Minister of Finance. This was a very important national role.
She was also elected to lead the board of Afreximbank. This happened during their 25th anniversary meeting. She took over from Uzziel Ndagijimana, who was the Finance Minister of Republic of Rwanda.
Political Involvement
For most of her career, Kemi Adeosun did not belong to a political party. However, on May 5, 2018, she joined the All Progressives Congress (APC). This is Nigeria's ruling political party.
