Wildlife in Kennebago Lake

Kennebago Lake is famous for its healthy population of native fish. You can find several types of fish living here. These include brook trout, which are known for their beautiful colors. There are also rainbow smelt, which are small fish that often serve as food for larger fish.

Another special fish found here is the land-locked Atlantic salmon. These salmon are unique because they live their entire lives in freshwater lakes and rivers, unlike most Atlantic salmon that travel to the ocean. The lake's cool, clear waters provide a perfect home for these fish species. This makes Kennebago Lake a popular spot for fishing and enjoying nature.
