Discover the Kennecott Nature Center!

The Kennecott Nature Center is a special place where you can learn about nature. It's located in Murray, Utah, right next to the Jordan River. This area is full of wetlands, which are like marshy lands where water meets land. The Murray City School District helps run this amazing center.

The center was created with help from the Kennecott Utah Copper Corporation, the Murray Education Foundation, and many community donors. It gives kids from the Murray City School District and some fourth-grade classes from the Granite School District a chance to explore nature up close. You can see wildlife and learn about plants and the river in a hands-on way.

The building itself is quite unique! It's built into the ground, so you can't easily see it from the street. On top of the roof, there's a garden filled with plants native to Utah. Down by the water, there's a nature trail. Here, students can walk among native trees and get really close to the river and its animals.

Exploring the Jordan River Parkway

The Jordan River Parkway is a popular trail that runs right alongside the nature center. This means visitors can easily walk or bike to the center while enjoying the beautiful river scenery. It's a great way to connect with nature before even stepping inside the center!
