History of Kennerdell

Long ago, even before railroads existed, Kennerdell was a very busy place for trade. Its location helped a lot. It was where many smaller rivers, called tributaries, flowed into the Allegheny River.

Farmers also sent their produce. These goods traveled on barges down the Allegheny River. They went to places like Fort Pitt and then to markets in Pittsburgh.
