Kenny Phillips (1959 – October 23, 2015) was an American college football player and a very successful coach. He is best known for leading the Fayetteville State Broncos at Fayetteville State University in Fayetteville, North Carolina. He was their head football coach from 2002 to 2012.
During his time as head coach, Phillips helped the Broncos win three big titles in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA). These wins happened in 2002, 2003, and 2009. Because of his great coaching, he was also named the CIAA Coach of the Year twice, in 2002 and 2009.
Kenny Phillips passed away on October 23, 2015, after battling cancer. He was 56 years old.
