Kent Lake is a large reservoir (a human-made lake) located in western Marin County, California. It was created when Peters Dam was built across Lagunitas Creek. The lake was finished in 1954. It's the newest and biggest lake managed by the Marin Municipal Water District. Kent Lake is west of Alpine Lake. It's special because it's the only one of the five main lakes in the area that lies west of Fairfax-Bolinas Road.
About Kent Lake
Kent Lake is one of four reservoirs along Lagunitas Creek. It's the lowest and most northern one. Water flows into Kent Lake from Lagunitas Creek. It also gets water from Little Carson Creek and Big Carson Creek. These two creeks flow around Pine Mountain to the east.
Visiting Kent Lake
Unlike some other lakes nearby, Kent Lake does not have many hiking trails right around its edges.
