Kenwood is found in the northeastern part of Oklahoma. It is about 20 miles (32 kilometers) southwest of Jay. Jay is the main town, or "county seat," of Delaware County. Kenwood is also about 11 miles (18 kilometers) east of Salina.
How Kenwood Got Its Name
Kenwood once had its own post office, which opened a long time ago on May 25, 1922. The name "Kenwood" comes from combining two parts: the last name of a person named William Kennedy and the name of a company called the National Hardwood Company.
