Her Early Life and Education
When Keren Craig was a teenager, she met her future business partner, Georgina Chapman. They were both students at the Chelsea College of Art and Design. Keren later studied at Brighton Art College. She graduated in 2000 with a degree in fashion textiles and business.
After college, Keren focused on creating designs for fabrics. This included making unique prints and detailed embroidery. She even worked on designs for other famous brands like Calvin Klein and Dolce & Gabbana.
Starting Marchesa
In 2004, Keren Craig and Georgina Chapman launched their own fashion brand called Marchesa. They named the brand after a famous socialite named Luisa Casati. Marchesa quickly became known for its elegant and often dramatic evening gowns.
In 2006, Marchesa was recognized as one of the top ten finalists by the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund. This is a big award in the fashion world.
