Early Life and High School Football
Kerry Hyder Jr. grew up in Austin, Texas. He played football at Lyndon B. Johnson High School. During his high school years, he played as both a linebacker and a defensive end. Many colleges were interested in him because he was a talented player.
College Football Career
Kerry Hyder Jr. decided to play college football for Texas Tech. He joined the team in 2009. His first year was a "redshirt" season, which means he practiced with the team but did not play in games. This allowed him to train and get ready for future seasons.
First Seasons at Texas Tech
