Kevin Curtis (born July 28, 1980) is an American football coach. He used to play as a safety. Right now, he is the cornerbacks coach for the Baylor University football team.

Early Life and High School
Kevin Curtis was born in Frankfurt, Germany. He grew up in Lubbock, Texas. He went to Coronado High School there. In high school, he played as a quarterback on the football team.
Playing Football in College and Pros
College Football Career
Curtis played as a safety for the Texas Tech Red Raiders. He played from 1998 to 2002. He was a really good player. He was named a second-team All-American twice. This means he was one of the best college football players in the country. He was also chosen for the All-Big 12 team three times.
In 1999, he was named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week. This happened after his team won a game against Colorado. Before the 2000 season, he was on the watchlist for the Jim Thorpe Award. This award goes to the best defensive back in college football. Kevin Curtis finished college in 2002. He earned a degree in Restaurant and Hotel Management.
Professional Football Career
The San Francisco 49ers picked Kevin Curtis in the fourth round of the 2002 NFL draft. He played for them for three seasons. After that, he played for several other teams. These included the Green Bay Packers, Oakland Raiders, and Houston Texans. He also played for the Cologne Centurions in NFL Europe.
Coaching Career
Starting His Coaching Journey
Kevin Curtis started coaching in 2008. He worked at Navarro College for two years. There, he coached the secondary players. In 2010, he became the cornerbacks coach at Louisiana Tech University. He worked under coach Sonny Dykes. Coach Dykes had been an assistant coach at Texas Tech when Curtis played there. In his second year at Louisiana Tech, his team's secondary was very good. They were third in the country for interceptions.
Coaching at Texas Tech
In December 2012, Curtis went back to his old college, Texas Tech University. He became the defensive backs coach there. He worked for his former teammate, Kliff Kingsbury, who was now the head coach. In November 2015, his time coaching at Texas Tech came to an end.
Returning to Louisiana Tech
On January 15, 2016, Kevin Curtis was hired again. He went back to Louisiana Tech as the cornerbacks coach.
Coaching at SMU
From 2018 to 2020, he coached at SMU. He was the cornerbacks coach for Sonny Dykes' team again.
Current Role at Baylor
On February 21, 2021, Kevin Curtis joined the Baylor University football team. He is currently their corners coach.
