Kevin Martin McBride, born on May 10, 1973, is a former professional boxer from Ireland. He is most famous for his big win against the legendary boxer Mike Tyson. Before becoming a professional, Kevin also boxed for Ireland in the 1992 Summer Olympics as an amateur.

Kevin McBride's Boxing Journey
Kevin McBride started his professional boxing career in December 1992. His very first fight was a draw against Gary Charlton. Over the years, he worked hard and won some important titles.
In 1997, Kevin won the All-Ireland Heavyweight Title by defeating Paul Douglas. Later, in 2002, he added the IBC Americas Heavyweight Title to his collection after beating Craig Tomlinson. Kevin lives in Boston, USA, in an area called Dorchester, and trains in Brockton, Massachusetts.
The Big Fight: Defeating Mike Tyson
The most famous moment in Kevin McBride's career was his victory over Mike Tyson. Mike Tyson was once the undisputed world heavyweight champion, a true boxing legend.
Their fight happened on June 11, 2005, in Washington, D.C. At the end of the sixth round, Tyson decided he could not continue. He told the referee he was quitting the fight. After the match, Tyson explained that his heart was no longer in boxing. He announced his retirement, saying he didn't want to "disrespect the sport anymore by losing to this caliber of fighter." This win was a huge moment for Kevin McBride.
Later Career and Challenges
After his big win against Mike Tyson, Kevin McBride continued to box. He won against Byron Polley. However, he also faced some tough losses.
He lost to Mike Mollo by knockout in the second round. Another loss was against Andrew Golota, where the fight was stopped in the sixth round because of a cut over Kevin's eye.
After a break from boxing, Kevin, also known as 'The Clones Colossus', tried to make a comeback in 2010. He fought Zack Page but lost the match. In 2011, he fought Tomasz Adamek, a former world champion, for two heavyweight titles. Adamek won that fight.
Kevin McBride ended his boxing career after losing to Mariusz Wach in July 2011. Kevin's nickname, "The Clones Colossus," is a nod to another famous Irish boxer, Barry McGuigan, who was known as "The Clones Cyclone."
