Khalil Taha showed his skill early on. In 1951, he competed at the 1951 Mediterranean Games in Alexandria, Egypt. He won a silver medal in the 73 kilogram weight class for Greco-Roman wrestling. This was a big achievement for him and for Lebanon.
The next year, in 1952, Khalil Taha went to the 1952 Summer Olympics. The Olympics are the biggest sports event in the world. He competed in the men's Greco-Roman Welterweight category.
