Khunyang Chhish is a giant mountain in the Karakoram mountain range, located in Pakistan. It stands incredibly tall at 7,852 meters (about 25,761 feet) above sea level! You might also hear it called Kunyang Kish or Khiangyang Kish. This amazing peak is part of a smaller group of mountains called the Hispar Muztagh subrange.
Khunyang Chhish is one of the highest mountains on Earth, ranking as the 21st tallest in the world. Reaching its top is a huge challenge for climbers. The first people to successfully climb Khunyang Chhish were a team of four brave explorers: Andrzej Heinrich, Jan Stryczynski, Ryszard Szafirski, and Andrzej Zawada. They made history when they reached the summit in 1971.
