Who Were the Kilusiktogmiut?

The Kilusiktogmiut were a "subgroup" of the Copper Inuit. This means they were a smaller community within the bigger group of Copper Inuit people. They shared many traditions and ways of life with other Copper Inuit.

Where Did the Kilusiktogmiut Live?

These people lived in the Arctic regions of Canada. One important place for them was Victoria Island. They lived on the eastern side of this large island. West of them lived another group called the Nagyuktogmiut, near Lady Franklin Point.

The Kilusiktogmiut also lived on the mainland of Canada. Their homes were along the Coronation Gulf. This area is especially important where the Mackenzie River meets the gulf. They also spent time on the Banks Peninsula, close to Bathurst Inlet.
