Kina Konova (Bulgarian: Кина Конова) was a very important woman from Bulgaria. She was born in Sevlievo in September 1872 and passed away in Sofia on May 2, 1952. Her birth name was Kina Mutafova.
Kina Konova was an educator, which means she was a teacher. She also translated texts, wrote for the public, and was a strong supporter of women's rights. She believed women should have the same opportunities as men.
She helped start the very first local group for women's rights in Bulgaria. This group was called the Society of Friends. Women's Branch and began in 1889. Later, in 1897, she also founded another local women's group called Nadezhda, which means "hope."

Kina Konova spent her life working as a teacher. She was one of the first people to talk about how important it was for girls and women to get a good education. She also spoke up about the rights and status of female teachers.
Founding the Bulgarian Women's Union
In 1901, Kina Konova played a key role in starting a big organization called the Bulgarian Women's Union. She worked with other important women like Vela Blagoeva, Ekaterina Karavelova, Anna Karima, and Julia Malinova.
This Union was like a big team that brought together 27 smaller women's groups from all over Bulgaria. These smaller groups had started forming since 1878.
Goals of the Union
The main goal of the Bulgarian Women's Union was to help more women get an education. They wanted women to be able to go to universities in the 1890s.
The Union also worked to help women become more involved in public life and politics. They held national meetings to discuss important issues. They also used a newspaper called Zhenski glas (which means Women's Voice) to share their ideas and encourage women.
