Kinder Bueno is a popular chocolate snack made by the Italian company Ferrero. The name "Kinder" means "children" in German, and "Bueno" means "good" in Spanish. It is part of the Kinder Chocolate family of treats.
This tasty treat features a crispy wafer filled with a creamy hazelnut filling. It is then covered in smooth milk chocolate, often with a drizzle of dark chocolate on top. Kinder Bueno first came out in 1990. Today, you can find it in over 60 countries around the world. It is usually sold in packs of two, three, six, or even boxes of twelve.
Where Kinder Bueno is Made
Kinder Bueno bars are made in factories located in France and Warsaw, Poland. To help serve the North American market, a new factory was built in Bloomington, Illinois. This factory started making Kinder Bueno for that region.
Different Kinds of Kinder Bueno
Kinder Bueno comes in several exciting varieties. Here are some of them:
- Kinder Bueno – This is the classic version with milk chocolate and hazelnut cream.
- Kinder Bueno White – This one is covered in delicious white chocolate and has small pieces of cocoa meringue on top.
- Kinder Bueno Coconut – This version had a coconut milk and white chocolate coating. It was also dusted with coconut flakes. This flavor is no longer sold in the UK since 2019.
- Kinder Bueno Dark – This bar is covered in rich dark chocolate. It was also stopped being sold in the UK in 2019.

- Kinder Bueno Eggs – These are small chocolate Easter eggs that are shaped like mini Kinder Bueno bars.
- Kinder Bueno Ice Cream – You can also enjoy Kinder Bueno as a cone ice cream. It comes in both the classic and white chocolate flavors.
Food Safety Information
Sometimes, food products are tested for different substances. A group called the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) once looked into Kinder Bueno. They found very small amounts of certain oils, called mineral oil aromatic hydrocarbons (MOAH), in the chocolate. These oils can sometimes get into food during processing or from packaging.
Ferrero, the company that makes Kinder Bueno, stated that their products are safe. They said that all their products contain levels of these oils that are well below the maximum amounts considered safe for people to eat. It is also important to know that other common chocolate products have been found to contain similar or even higher levels of these substances. Food safety organizations regularly check many different foods to make sure they are safe for everyone.
