Kinder Joy is a fun treat made by the Italian company Ferrero. It's part of their popular Kinder family of products. This candy comes in a cool plastic egg shape. The egg splits into two halves. What is Kinder Joy?
Kinder Joy is a special product from the Kinder chocolate line. It comes in a plastic egg that you can easily open. One side of the egg has a yummy dessert. The Story of Kinder Joy
Ferrero first launched Kinder Joy in Italy in 2001. It quickly became popular in other countries too. It arrived in Spain in 2004 and in Germany in May 2006. China and India started selling Kinder Joy in 2007. Later, in 2018, it was launched in Australia and the United States.
In 2011, Ferrero opened a factory in Baramati, India. This factory makes Kinder Joy eggs and other products like Tic Tacs. In 2015, the company opened its first factory in China. This factory is in the Xiaoshan District of Hangzhou. Kinder Joy was the very first product made there. By September 2015, Kinder Joy was one of the best-selling candies in China. It even won an award for being a "Breakthrough Innovation."
Kinder Joy also became available in Ireland in 2015. In November 2015, Ferrero announced that the eggs would be sold in the United Kingdom. They started selling them there in December 2015.
Why is it Different in the US?
In May 2017, it was announced that Kinder Joy would come to the United States in 2018. This was a big deal because another similar Kinder product, Kinder Surprise, is not allowed in the U.S. A special law in the U.S. prevents food items from having non-food objects completely inside them. Kinder Joy is different because its toy is in a separate, sealed half of the egg. This makes it safe and allowed in the United States.
