King George Bay (also known as Spanish: Bahia 9 de Julio in Spanish) is a large bay located on the coast of West Falkland. West Falkland is one of the two main islands that make up the Falkland Islands. This bay faces towards the west.

About King George Bay

King George Bay is quite a big body of water. It stretches for about 21 miles (34 kilometers) in length. The bay is also around 10 miles (16 kilometers) wide.

What's inside and around the bay?

There are several interesting features within and around King George Bay.

Settlements

You can find three small communities located right on the bay's shores. These settlements are Chartres, Dunnose Head, and Roy Cove. People live and work in these areas.

Mountains and Islands

On the northern side of King George Bay, you will see Storm Mountain. This mountain adds to the beautiful scenery of the area. The bay also has many islands scattered throughout its waters. Some of these islands include the Passage Islands and Split Island.
