The Kingcome River is a cool river found in British Columbia, a province in Canada. It's like a giant funnel where all the rain and melting snow from an area of about 1,456 square kilometers (562 square miles) flows into this river. This area is called its drainage basin.

Where Does the Kingcome River Flow?

The Kingcome River generally flows south. It empties into Kingcome Inlet, which is a long, narrow arm of the sea. This inlet is located north of the Broughton Archipelago, a group of islands.

Main Rivers Joining the Kingcome

The Kingcome River has a few important rivers that flow into it. These are called its tributaries.

  • The Atlatzi River joins the Kingcome River close to where it meets the sea.
  • The Satsalla River also flows into the Kingcome. Like the Atlatzi, it starts from the edge of the Ha-Iltzuk Icefield. This is a large area of ice and snow.
  • A smaller river, the Clear River, flows from the west and also joins the Kingcome River.

These rivers all work together to form the Kingcome River system.
