Kinnickinnic River (St. Croix River) facts for kids

The Kinnickinnic River, often called the Kinni for short, is a beautiful river in northwestern Wisconsin, United States. It is about 22 miles (35 km) long. The Kinni is known as a cold water fishery. This means it's a great place for fish that like cold water, especially trout!
The river is home to native Brook Trout and naturally reproducing Brown Trout. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources officially calls the Kinnickinnic River a Class I trout stream. This special name means it's a very high-quality trout water. It has many wild trout and does not need fish from fish farms to be added.
