Kirkwood is a small village located in Warren County, Illinois, in the United States. In 2010, about 714 people lived there. It is part of the larger Galesburg area.

History of Kirkwood
The land where Kirkwood now stands was once part of a special area called the Military Tract of 1812. This land was set aside for soldiers.
In 1859, the first town center here was named Lyndon. Later, on August 5, 1865, it officially became a village called Young America. In May 1874, the town's name was changed one last time to Kirkwood. This new name honored Samuel J. Kirkwood, who was a governor of Iowa.
