Kirthiga Reddy (born around 1971) is a very successful Indian-American businesswoman. She is the founder and CEO of a company called Virtualness. She also leads Athena SPACs as its President.

Before this, Kirthiga was a top leader at SoftBank, a huge investment company. She was the very first woman to be an investing partner there! She also used to be the managing director for Facebook in India. She was the first person Facebook hired in India. She helped Facebook grow a lot in the country.

In 2011, Fortune India magazine named her one of the Top 50 Most Powerful Women. She was also listed among India's 25 most influential women.

Kirthiga Reddy's Amazing Journey

Growing Up and Learning

Kirthiga Reddy grew up in India. Her parents were not rich; her father worked for the government. She studied Computer Science and Engineering in college in India. She did very well, coming in second in her class!

After college, she moved to the United States. There, she earned two master's degrees. She got one in business from Stanford University. She also got one in computer engineering from Syracuse University.

Working with Big Companies

Kirthiga has worked for several well-known companies. These include Silicon Graphics and Motorola. At Silicon Graphics, she was a director of engineering. She was the youngest person and the only woman at that level on her team.

In 2008, Kirthiga moved back to India. She started working for a company called Phoenix Technologies.

Leading Facebook in India

In July 2010, Kirthiga Reddy joined Facebook. She was the very first employee Facebook hired in India! She started the company's operations there from the beginning. She even had to open the office herself on the first day.

Under her leadership, Facebook India grew a lot. More and more people started using Facebook in India. She also helped Facebook's global business by selling ads. She made big deals with companies like Coca-Cola India.

In 2016, Kirthiga decided to leave her role at Facebook India. She planned to move back to the United States. She explained that her family had always planned to return to the US. It was a good time for her two daughters to move as they were starting high school and middle school.

Life Outside Work

Kirthiga is married to her husband, Dev. They have two daughters named Ashna and Ariya.
