Kathleen Margaret "Kit" Pearson (born April 30, 1947) is a Canadian author who writes amazing books for kids and young adults. She has won many important awards for her stories. Kit Pearson is especially known for her "Guests of War Trilogy," which includes The Sky Is Falling (1989), Looking at the Moon (1991), and The Lights Go on Again (1993). These three books were later published together as The Guests of War Trilogy in 1999.
Another one of her famous books is Awake and Dreaming (1996), which won the prestigious Governor General's Award for English-language children's literature in 1997. In 2019, Kit Pearson was honored with the Order of Canada, which is one of the highest awards a Canadian citizen can receive.

About Kit Pearson
Kit Pearson was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. She spent her childhood living in both Edmonton and Vancouver, British Columbia. When she was in high school, she went back to Vancouver to study at Crofton House School.
Kit's Education Journey
Kit Pearson studied English Literature at the University of Alberta. Later, in 1975, she started studying to become a librarian at the University of British Columbia. After that, she worked in libraries in Ontario. She also earned a Master's degree from the Simmons College Center for the Study of Children's Literature in Boston.
Becoming a Published Author
After finishing her studies, Kit Pearson returned to Vancouver. It was there that she completed her very first novel, The Daring Game. This book was published by Penguin Books, a well-known publishing company. In 2005, Kit Pearson moved to Victoria, British Columbia, where she lives today.
Awards and Recognition
