How Kitts Hill Got Its Name

Kitts Hill is named after a family. The first person from this family to live there was a farmer named Charles Edward Kitts. He was born in a place called Belmont. Charles Edward Kitts passed away in Kitts Hill in 1875.

His son, Edward Franklin Kitts, and Edward's wife, Mary Ann, also lived there. Later, their daughter, Louisa Esther, married a man named Willis Crowe. The Crowe family owned and managed the farm for a big part of the 1900s.
