Kiyokazu Kudo (久藤 清一, Kudo Kiyokazu, born June 21, 1974) is a famous Japanese football player and coach. He played as a Midfielder for many years. After retiring as a player, he became a coach. As of July 2025, he is the assistant head coach for the J2 League team Zweigen Kanazawa.

Kudo's Football Journey
Kiyokazu Kudo was born in Amagasaki, Japan, on June 21, 1974. After finishing high school, he started his professional football career in 1993. He joined a team called Yamaha Motors, which later became known as Júbilo Iwata.
Playing for Júbilo Iwata
Kudo played many games for Júbilo Iwata, mostly as a right midfielder. His team was very successful during this time. They won the J1 League championship in 1997. They also won the J.League Cup in 1998.
In late 1998, Kudo went to play for Avispa Fukuoka for a short time. This is called a "loan" when a player temporarily moves to another team. Even though Avispa Fukuoka had a tough season, they managed to stay in the top league.
Kudo returned to Júbilo Iwata in 1999. He became a regular player, often playing as a right side back. However, in 2000, he started playing less often for the team.
Moving to Cerezo Osaka
In May 2000, Kudo moved to Cerezo Osaka. He found it hard to become a regular player there at first. In 2002, his team was moved down to a lower league, the J2 League.
After this, Kudo became a very important player for Cerezo Osaka. The team then moved back up to the J1 League in 2003. He played in many different midfield positions for them.
Return to Avispa Fukuoka
In 2006, Kudo joined Avispa Fukuoka again. He played regularly for them. However, in 2007, the team was moved down to the J2 League.
Kudo continued to play many games for Avispa Fukuoka. He was a key player in helping the team get promoted back to the J1 League in 2011. He decided to retire from playing professional football at the end of the 2010 season.
Becoming a Coach
After he stopped playing, Kiyokazu Kudo began a new career as a football coach.
Coaching at Avispa Fukuoka
He started coaching at Avispa Fukuoka in 2011. He mostly worked with the younger players on the youth team. In 2018, he returned to Avispa Fukuoka to coach the main team. In June 2019, he became the manager of the team for a short time. A manager is like the head coach who makes all the big decisions for the team.
Other Coaching Roles
In 2016, Kudo also worked as a coach for the main team at Roasso Kumamoto. Later, in 2021, he became a coach for Thespakusatsu Gunma. As of July 2025, he is the assistant head coach for Zweigen Kanazawa.
