Knobby is a small, quiet place in Benton County, Missouri, in the United States. It's known as an unincorporated community. This means it's a group of homes and businesses that isn't officially a town or city with its own local government.
Where is Knobby Located?
Knobby is found in the central part of Missouri. You can find it along a road called Supplemental Route DD. It's about 16.8 miles (or 27 kilometers) east-southeast of a larger town named Warsaw.
How Knobby Got Its Name
The name "Knobby" comes from a nearby stream called Knobby Creek. For a while, the community had a slightly different name. A post office was first set up in Knobby in 1885. Later, in 1907, its name was changed to Nobby. However, the post office eventually closed down in 1913.
