Kobi Jordan Simmons (born July 4, 1997) is a professional basketball player from the United States. He currently plays for the Zhejiang Golden Bulls team in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). Before turning pro, Kobi played college basketball for the Arizona Wildcats.

Kobi Simmons went to St. Francis in Milton, Georgia. In his first year, he scored about 14.1 points per game. He also made 3.9 assists, 2.7 rebounds, and 2.0 steals per game.

As a sophomore, in 2013–14, he improved his game. He averaged 17.4 points, 4.8 assists, and 3.5 rebounds per game. During his junior year, Kobi averaged 21.2 points per game. He also had 4.2 assists per game and 2.9 rebounds per game in 32 games.

In the summer of his junior year, Kobi played in the 2015 Under Armour Elite 24 Game. This event took place in Brooklyn, New York. He was also invited to other special camps like Adidas Nations.

As a senior, Kobi averaged 26.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 4.0 assists. In his final game for St. Francis, he scored 36 points. This included seven three-pointers in a semi-final game. Throughout his high school career, Kobi helped St. Francis win 100 games. They also won two state championships.

In January 2016, Kobi decided to play for Arizona in college. That same month, he was named a McDonald's All-American. He played in the 2016 McDonald's All-American Game on March 30. He scored 12 points and had 2 assists in that game.

Experts at ESPN rated Kobi as a five-star recruit. He was ranked 20th in the Class of 2016. He also won the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Player of the Year award. His jersey number has been retired at St. Francis, which is a big honor!

Kobi Simmons' College Career

Kobi Simmons played one season of college basketball for Arizona. On November 11, 2016, Kobi scored 18 points in his first college game. This was a great start for an Arizona player in a decade. He helped the Wildcats win 65–63 against No. 12 ranked Michigan State.

On January 21, 2017, Kobi had an amazing game. He scored 20 points, grabbed 6 rebounds, and made 5 assists. This helped Arizona win 96–85 against No. 3 ranked UCLA.

Arizona was the No. 2 seed in the Pac-12 Conference tournament. They beat Colorado and UCLA to reach the finals. On March 11, 2017, Kobi and Arizona won the Pac-12 Conference Championship. They defeated Oregon 83–80.

The Wildcats entered the NCAA tournament as a No. 2 Seed. They won their first two games against North Dakota and St. Mary's. However, they lost to Xavier in the Sweet Sixteen round.

As a freshman, Kobi played in 37 games and started 19 of them. He averaged 8.7 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game. On April 5, 2017, Kobi decided to enter the NBA draft. This meant he would not play his remaining three years of college basketball.

Kobi Simmons' Professional Career

Memphis Grizzlies (2017–2018)

Kobi Simmons started his professional career with the Memphis Grizzlies. He also spent time playing for their G League team, the Memphis Hustle. His first NBA game was on November 29, 2017. He played in 32 games for the Grizzlies, averaging 6.1 points per game. He was very good at free throws, making all 25 of his attempts! The Grizzlies later let him go on August 28, 2018.

Canton Charge (2018–2019)

In September 2018, Kobi signed with the Cleveland Cavaliers. He was later waived by them in October. He then joined the Cavs' NBA G League team, the Canton Charge.

Cleveland Cavaliers (2019)

On January 27, 2019, the Cleveland Cavaliers signed Kobi to a short 10-day contract. However, he was waived again by the Cavaliers on February 4.

Greensboro Swarm (2019–2021)

In September 2019, the Charlotte Hornets signed Kobi Simmons. His contract was later changed to a two-way contract. For the 2020–21 season, Kobi rejoined the Greensboro Swarm in the G League. He averaged 18 points, 6 assists, and 5 rebounds per game.

Stal Ostrów Wielkopolski (2021–2022)

On September 25, 2021, Kobi signed with Stal Ostrów Wielkopolski. This team plays in the Polish Basketball League.

Charlotte Hornets / Return to Greensboro (2022–2023)

On November 4, 2022, Kobi was named to the roster for the Greensboro Swarm. He signed another two-way contract with the Charlotte Hornets on March 30, 2023. A week later, Kobi signed a multi-year contract with the Hornets. However, he was waived by the Hornets on August 30, 2023.

Toronto Raptors / Raptors 905 (2023–2024)

On November 22, 2023, Kobi signed with Raptors 905. He played in 23 games, averaging 15.9 points and 4.9 assists. On March 25, 2024, Kobi signed a 10-day contract with the Toronto Raptors.

In September 2024, Kobi signed with Maccabi Tel Aviv in Israel. He was released by the team later that month.
