Kolb (pronounced "KOHLB") is a small, unincorporated community located in Wisconsin, United States. It is sometimes called Kolb's Corner. An unincorporated community means it's a recognized place, but it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town.
Kolb is found within the town of Ledgeview, which is part of Brown County. It sits about 7 miles (11 km) south-southeast of the larger city of Green Bay. You can find Kolb where County Highways G, V, and MM all meet.
History of Kolb
The community of Kolb is named after Peter Kolb. He was an important person in the early days of the settlement. Peter Kolb became the very first postmaster for the area. A postmaster is the person in charge of a local post office. The post office in Kolb first opened its doors in May 1887.
