Ledgeview is a town located in Brown County, in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. It's a place where many people live and work. In 2010, the population of Ledgeview was 6,555 people. This number was much higher than in 2000, when 3,363 people lived there.

Communities in Ledgeview

Ledgeview is home to a couple of smaller communities. These are places where people live, but they don't have their own separate local government like a city or town does.

  • Kolb (also known as Kolbs Corner) is one of these communities. You can find it where County Highways G, V, and MM meet.
  • Pine Grove is another unincorporated community. It is located near the intersection of County Road NN and Pine Grove Road.

History of Ledgeview

The town of Ledgeview has an interesting history! For a long time, from 1839 until 1994, it was actually called the "town of De Pere." They changed the name to "Ledgeview" to avoid confusion with the nearby city of De Pere.

Before 1839, this area was part of an even larger place called "Wilcox." This name came from an early Wisconsin settler named Randall Wilcox.

Geography and Location

Ledgeview is located in the southern part of Brown County. It is surrounded by several other towns and cities. To the west, you'll find the city of De Pere. To the north is the village of Bellevue. The Town of Eaton is to the east, and the Town of Glenmore is to the south. The Town of Rockland is to the southwest.

Downtown Green Bay is about 7 miles (11 km) to the north of Ledgeview.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the total area of Ledgeview is about 17.5 square miles (45.4 square kilometers). Most of this area, about 17.4 square miles (45.0 square kilometers), is land. A small part, about 0.15 square miles (0.4 square kilometers), is water.

Population Information

In 2000, there were 3,363 people living in Ledgeview. These people lived in 1,180 households, and 913 of these were families. The population density was about 190.9 people per square mile (73.7 people per square kilometer).

Many households in Ledgeview had children under the age of 18 living with them. About 69.9% of households were married couples living together. The average household had about 2.81 people, and the average family had about 3.23 people.
