Komandorski Village was a special place built in Dublin, California. It was a group of temporary homes that weren't very expensive. These homes were made for military people and their families. They needed extra places to live near Camp Parks.

What Was Komandorski Village?

Komandorski Village was located in Alameda County, California. It was about 2 miles (3.2 km) northeast of the center of Dublin. The village was built 371 feet (113 meters) above sea level. It was meant to be a temporary solution for housing.

Why Was It Built?

During certain times, many military members and their families needed places to live. Camp Parks, a military training area, couldn't fit everyone. So, Komandorski Village was created to help with this need. It gave military families a place to stay while they were serving.

The Village's History

The United States government owned Komandorski Village for some time. In 1954, the government sold the village. It was bought by a group that helps provide housing. As part of the sale, the village had a special rule. It was required to be taken down by the year 1984. This meant the homes were not meant to last forever.
