Kongabula facts for kids
The Kongabula were an Indigenous Australian people who lived in the state of Queensland. They are one of the many Aboriginal groups who have lived on the Australian continent for thousands of years.
Where the Kongabula Lived
The Kongabula people made their home in the beautiful, steep forest areas of the Carnarvon Range. Their land also included the starting points of the Injune (Hutton) Creek and the Dawson River, especially north of where these two waterways met.
Their country was located both to the east and north of the Great Dividing Range, which is a major mountain range in Australia. A researcher named Norman Tindale estimated that their traditional lands covered about 2,300 square miles (6,000 km2), which is a very large area!
