Konstantin Orbelyan (born July 29, 1928 – died April 24, 2014) was a famous Armenian musician. He was a talented pianist and composer. He also led the State Estrada Orchestra of Armenia, which was a very important music group.
Orbelyan was given the special title of People's Artist of the USSR in 1979. This award was a high honor for artists in the Soviet Union. He also held important positions in music organizations. He was a board member of the Union of Soviet Composers and the secretary of the Armenian Composer's Union starting in 1983. He was also the Vice-President of the All-Soviet Musical Society of the USSR. His nephew, also named Constantine Orbelian, is also a well-known musician.
