Robert Cooper Phillips (born April 27, 1975 – died October 9, 2015) was an American rapper. Many people knew him by his stage name, Koopsta Knicca. He was a well-known member of the rap group Three 6 Mafia from Memphis. He also belonged to another rap group called Da Mafia 6ix. Other members of Da Mafia 6ix included DJ Paul, Crunchy Black, and Gangsta Boo.
Phillips released his first solo album, Da Devil's Playground, in 1994. DJ Paul produced this album. Later, in 1999, most of the album was re-recorded and improved. It also had a different list of songs.
Koopsta Knicca left Three 6 Mafia in 2000. This was because he faced challenges that prevented him from performing at shows and making music videos. He continued to make solo music. Some of his later albums were Da K Project, De Inevitable, and The Mind of Robert Cooper.
Starting in 2012, Phillips began working on a new album called Da Devil's Playground 2. He also worked on a mixtape named Skrewged. Before this, he had released A Murda 'N Room 8 EP in 2010. He also released Decepticons – Return Of The Gods in 2012. Phillips often worked with Lord Infamous, who was also part of Three 6 Mafia. They even made an album together as a group called Da Mafia 6ix.

Koopsta Knicca's Music Career
Phillips joined the rap group Three 6 Mafia in Memphis in 1991. According to Lord Infamous, Koopsta Knicca went to the same high school as DJ Paul and later Juicy J. He was featured on many albums by Three 6 Mafia. One of these was the very popular album When the Smoke Clears: Sixty 6, Sixty 1. This album sold over a million copies.
He left the group in 2000 after this album came out. This was because he had personal issues that made it hard for him to perform. He could not attend shows or make videos. This also meant he could not keep his agreement with Sony. DJ Paul shared a message after Phillips passed away. He said they were working on Koopsta Knicca's 11th solo album, Da Devil's Playground 2, just before he died.
Koopsta Knicca's Passing
