Kota Yoshihara (吉原 宏太, Yoshihara Kōta) is a former professional football player from Japan. He was born on February 2, 1978. Kota Yoshihara played as a forward and was known for his skills on the field. He also had the honor of playing for the Japan national team.

Kota Yoshihara's Club Career Journey
Kota Yoshihara started his football journey in his hometown of Fujiidera. After finishing high school, he joined a club called Consadole Sapporo in 1996. This team was part of the Japan Football League at the time.
Rising to the Top League
In 1997, Consadole Sapporo won the league championship. This big win meant they were promoted to the J1 League, which is the top professional football league in Japan. However, after a couple of years, the team was moved down to a new league called J2 League in 1999.
Playing for Gamba Osaka
In 2000, Kota Yoshihara moved to Gamba Osaka, a team closer to his home. He became a regular player for them starting in 2001. He played many games and scored important goals. With Gamba Osaka, he achieved a major success by winning the J1 League championship in 2005. He also helped the team reach the finals of the J.League Cup in the same year.
Later Career and Retirement
After his time at Gamba Osaka, Kota Yoshihara played for Omiya Ardija from 2006 to 2008. Later, in 2009, he joined Mito HollyHock. He continued to play professional football until he announced his retirement. Kota Yoshihara officially retired from playing football on February 2, 2013, which was also his 35th birthday. Playing for the Japan National Team
Kota Yoshihara also had the chance to represent his country. In June 1999, he was chosen to be part of the Japan national team. He joined them for a big international tournament called the 1999 Copa América.
His International Debut
During the 1999 Copa América, Kota Yoshihara made his first appearance for the national team. His debut game was on July 2, 1999, when Japan played against Paraguay.
