Kota Yoshihara (吉原 宏太, Yoshihara Kōta, born February 2, 1978) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a forward. Kota Yoshihara also played for the Japan national team.

Playing for Clubs
Kota Yoshihara was born in Fujiidera, Japan, on February 2, 1978. After finishing high school, he started his professional football career.
Early Career: Consadole Sapporo
In 1996, Kota joined Consadole Sapporo. This club was part of the Japan Football League at the time. In 1997, his team won the championship. This win helped them move up to the top league, called the J1 League. However, in 1999, the club was moved to a new league, the J2 League.
Moving to Gamba Osaka
In 2000, Kota Yoshihara moved to Gamba Osaka. This was a club closer to his hometown. From 2001, he became a regular player for the team. This means he played in most of their games. However, after 2003, he played less often.
Later Career and Retirement
In 2006, Kota joined Omiya Ardija. He played there for a few years. Then, in 2009, he moved to Mito HollyHock. He continued to play until he decided to retire from football. Kota Yoshihara announced his retirement on February 2, 2013. This was on his 35th birthday. Throughout his career, he played in 397 club games and scored 105 goals.
Playing for Japan
Kota Yoshihara also had the chance to play for his country. In June 1999, he was chosen to join the Japan national team. He played in a big tournament called the 1999 Copa América. On July 2, 1999, he played his first game for Japan. This game was against the Paraguay national team. He played one game for the national team in total.
