Krok is a small, quiet place located in Wisconsin, a state in the United States. It's known as an "unincorporated community." This means it's a group of homes and businesses that doesn't have its own separate local government, like a city or a village would. Instead, Krok is part of a larger area called the town of West Kewaunee, which is in Kewaunee County.
You can find Krok near where the East Twin River begins its journey. There's also a smaller stream nearby called Krok Creek. Krok is situated just west of another small community named East Krok.
The History of Krok
Krok was founded by people who came from a region called Bohemia. Today, Bohemia is part of the Czech Republic. These Czech immigrants traveled to Wisconsin and built their new homes and community here.
An important event in Krok's early days was the establishment of its post office. This happened in January 1875. The person who started it was named Wojta Stransky. Having a post office was a big deal for the community. It allowed people to send and receive letters and packages, helping Krok stay connected with other places and grow.
