Kungsör Municipality (called Kungsörs kommun in Swedish) is a special area in central Sweden. It's like a local government district, found in Västmanland County. The main town, or "seat," where the local government offices are, is called Kungsör.
This municipality was created in 1971. Before that, the town of Kungsör and another area called Kung Karl joined together. Kungsör is located at the western end of Lake Mälaren, which is one of Sweden's largest lakes. The area around Kungsör is mostly open, with many fields and green meadows.
