Oyekunle Opeyemi Oluwaremi, known as Kunle Remi, is a talented Nigerian actor, producer, and model. He has appeared in many popular films like Falling and Aníkúlápó. He also starred in the TV series Tinsel. In 2010, he won the 7th season of Gulder Ultimate Search, a famous reality show.
While studying at the New York Film Academy, Kunle Remi also hosted an online TV channel called Celebville 360. He even hosted the Academy Awards nomination event in Beverly Hills. His first movie role was in Heavy Beauty in 2012. He continued his studies in filmmaking and directing, graduating in 2015.

Early Life and Education
Kunle Remi studied acting at the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles. He finished his acting studies in 2014. After that, he went back to the same academy to learn about filmmaking and directing, graduating in 2015. Kunle Remi is a Christian.
Starting His Acting Journey
Kunle Remi started acting professionally in 2011. This was right after he won Gulder Ultimate Search in 2010. His first time on screen was in the 2012 movie Heavy Beauty. In 2014, he began doing stunts in a film called Kpains: The Frest of Souls.
In 2015, he got roles in short films like Sister's Keeper, Sting, and Hex. He also joined the TV series The Getaway as a character named Oliseh. His fame grew with his roles in Out of Luck, Deluded, and Mrs. & Mrs Johnson.
His big break came with the movie Falling in September 2015. In this film, he played a husband who was in a coma after a car accident. His co-star, Adesua Etomi-Wellington, won an award for her role in the same movie.

2016
In 2016, Kunle Remi starred in Any Other Monday, a film about love and marriage. He also appeared in Any Other Monday, which was released on February 5, 2016. Later that year, on September 9, he starred in another film about love's challenges.
He also worked on two TV series. The first was Lincoln's Clan Evolution, where he played Eric. This show was about a rich Nigerian family. The second was Tinsel (TV series), a long-running Nigerian soap opera. He joined Tinsel in 2016 and continued his role as Zane into 2017.
2017
In 2017, Kunle Remi took on different roles. He played Lolu in Tiwa's Baggage, a story about a woman with a child who was left alone. On April 12, Sobi's Mystic was released. This was a romantic drama where he had a lighter role.
A few months later, Alter Ego came out on July 24. This film was nominated for awards for its social message and Production Design. Kunle Remi and his co-star, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, were also nominated for Best Kiss in a Film.
In September, he starred in Surprise Wedding, a movie about an arranged marriage. Kunle Remi played Tunde, who gets a wedding as a birthday surprise. He has to get married because his inheritance depends on it. To end the year, he acted in Purple Hearts, a film about breast cancer awareness.
2018
Kunle Remi started 2018 in Stronger Together, playing a pediatrician named Jide. By February 3, Forbidden was released. This TV series was very popular and followed two lovers whose secret relationship is revealed.
The Eve, a romantic comedy, came out on March 30, 2018. It was praised for its beautiful look and cast. Kunle Remi played Audu in this film. The story was about a man making risky choices at his bachelor party. This movie later became available on Netflix in October 2020.
2019
In 2019, Kunle Remi starred in Boys Will Be Boys, released on February 14. He played Mike, who lies about a wild bachelor party. On the same day, Sin City was released. In this movie, he and Yvonne Nelson played a couple whose vacation tests their relationship.
He also had a big role in Gold Statue, released on May 17, 2019. He starred alongside Gabriel Afolayan. The director, Tade Ogidan, returned after eight years to make this film. It won several awards, including Best Movie of The Year. The film follows Wale (Afolayan) and Chike (Remi) as they search for a special "Gold Statue."
Another film he starred in was Quagmire, released on December 3. Kunle Remi's character, Kolade, gets a big surprise when his wife invites another woman into their home. This was mainly because his mother-in-law wanted a grandchild. His acting in this film was highly praised.
2020
Even with the coronavirus pandemic starting, Kunle Remi appeared in many films in 2020. One of his first important roles was in JOCA (Just A Call Away). This short film encouraged people to take precautions during the pandemic. Kunle Remi played Richard, who returns from overseas with virus symptoms.
Mama Drama, released on October 1, is considered one of his top films. This Nigerian drama features many stars and tells the story of a woman who has many miscarriages and hires her assistant to be a surrogate. Later that month, he co-produced and acted in Lemonade.
He also starred in 12 Seasons, a movie about the challenges of newly married couples. His role in Introducing the Kujus was very successful. This movie earned a lot of money and won an award for Best Writing in 2022. It is now available on Amazon Prime Video.
2021
The Prophetess, released on April 2, 2021, featured Kunle Remi as Dipo. He played a Lagos-based radio host who gets into trouble because of a prophetess's misinterpreted remarks about a football match. His first major film of the year was Gone. This film was first shown at the Calgary Black Film Festival and then released to the public on July 16, 2021.
In his first Netflix film, Gone, he played a supporting role as a stockbroker. The story is about a man who returns home after 25 years to find his family has moved on. This film is considered one of the best Nollywood movies of 2021.
13 Letters showed the problems that can arise from dating many people. Kunle Remi's character needs a public relations agent to help him fix his image. Fans loved the chemistry between him and his co-star, Bimbo Ademoye.
October was a busy month for him. In the crime thriller Hide and Seek, he played the lead role of James. He had to protect a politician and deal with many hidden plans. Later that month, April Showers was released. This film is about a 40-year-old woman who wants to start a family. It is available on Amazon Prime Video.
His first Christmas film, A Naija Christmas by Kunle Afolayan, was released on December 16. This was Kunle Remi's first main role in a Netflix original film. He played Ugo, one of three brothers competing to find a wife first, as wished by their mother.
2022
In 2022, Kunle Remi got roles in Saint Oyinda, Borrowed Wealth, Treasury, and the TV series Deserted. He also starred in Anikulapo by Kunle Afolayan. In Anikulapo, he played Saro, a simple textile weaver who falls in love with Queen Arolake, played by Bimbo Ademoye. Their love leads him to face death and make difficult choices.
Anikulapo was very popular. In its first week, it was watched for over 8 million hours and became a top 10 film in 24 countries on Netflix. It was also the number one film in Nigeria. The movie won many awards in 2023, including Best Overall Movie.
He ended the year with the crime thriller Woke, released on November 4. This movie is about a private investigator trying to rescue a kidnapped daughter. On December 23, Ijakumo was released. Kunle Remi played Pastor Jide, a man of God who also commits bad deeds.
Producing Films
Kunle Remi produced a short film called Sting in 2013. It was shown at the Zimbabwe Film Festival. Later, in 2019, he produced Lemonade. This film was available on many streaming platforms in Nigeria, including DStv and YouTube.
Hosting TV Shows
While studying at the New York Film Academy, Kunle Remi worked as a host for an online TV channel called Celebville 360. In 2013, he reported live from the Academy Awards nomination event in Beverly Hills, California.
He returned to hosting in 2021 as a taskmaster for Gulder Ultimate Search Season 12, alongside Toke Makinwa. The next year, he hosted the green carpet for the 2022 Glo Dance Battle of the Year with Moet Abebe. He was also a judge on Dance Naija Dance by Zee World.
In November 2022, Kunle Remi hosted the Woman in Management, Business and Public Service (WIMBIZ) Africa event. He also moderated the Sterling Leadership Series: Born in Blackness, where he interviewed journalist Howard French. On November 27, 2022, he hosted the Culturati, a big art and cultural event in Nigeria. In December, he hosted the Fuze Talent Hunt, which looked for new talents.
Modeling Career
Kunle Remi started his modeling career at age 24 with ISIS models. He has appeared in advertisements for well-known brands. These include Airtel, ARISE Magazine, DStv, MTN Nigeria, The Reele Magazine, and Diamond Bank (now Access Bank).
Personal Life
In December 2022, Kunle Remi spoke about feeling overwhelmed at different times in his acting journey. He mentioned thinking a lot about his career and whether he was doing enough.
On January 1, 2024, Kunle Remi married his girlfriend Tiwi. He shared the news on his Instagram page.
Future Plans
Kunle Remi is a co-founder of 1810 Empire Studios, which started in 2012. This company has three main parts: 1810 management, 1810 Studios, and 1810 Impact. All of them have new projects coming up.
1810 Studios is working on two feature films. They also have a limited series about love stories for young people and a talk show. 1810 Impact aims to help people in need.
