Quintin Kwame Alexander (born December 7, 1990) is an American professional basketball player. He currently plays for Club Trouville in Uruguay. He is known for playing as a small forward or power forward.
High School and College Basketball
Kwame Alexander played high school basketball at Rancho Verde High School in California. In his senior year, he was named to the all-league first-team. He helped his team achieve an impressive 23 wins and only 6 losses. The year before, his team won the league title.
After high school, he played at Irvine Valley College in 2008–09. He averaged about 9.5 points and 8 rebounds per game. He shot the ball very well, making 61.6 percent of his shots. This earned him second-team all-league honors.
He then moved to Cal State San Bernardino. In the 2010–11 season, he played in 23 games. He was a leader in field goal percentage in his league. He also ranked high in rebounds and blocked shots. He scored in double figures in 12 games. He had two "double-doubles," which means he got double-digit points and rebounds in the same game. One game, he scored 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. In another, he had 17 points and 14 rebounds. He was even named CCAA Player of the Week in February.
In the 2011–12 season, Kwame became known as one of the best "big men" in Division II college basketball. He was famous for his amazing jumping ability and how hard he was to guard near the basket. He was named first-team All-CCAA. He averaged 10.6 points and led his league with 7.9 rebounds per game. He had five double-doubles that season. He scored 22 points in one game against Sonoma State. He also made a fantastic dunk against Cal State Stanislaus. This dunk was so good that it was featured on ESPN's Top 10 Plays of the Day!
Professional Basketball Career
After college, Kwame Alexander was not chosen in the 2013 NBA draft. This means no NBA team picked him to play for them. However, he started his professional career overseas.
He first signed with a Greek team called Rethymno Aegean B.C. in 2013. In 2014, he moved to a Bosnian team, HKK Čapljina Lasta. Later that year, he played for Enosis Neon Paralimni in Cyprus.
In 2015, he played for the Changwon LG Sakers in Korea. Then he returned to Greece to play for Aries Trikala B.C.. After that, he joined the NLEX Road Warriors in the Philippines.
In 2016, Kwame signed with BC Nokia in Finland. He played only a few games there before leaving the team.
In 2022, Kwame played for Pioneros de Los Mochis in Mexico. He was named an All-Star in the CIBACOPA league. He also won the Slam Dunk Contest, showing off his incredible jumping skills! He was named an All-Star again in 2023.
Kwame has played for many teams around the world. These include teams in Uruguay, Venezuela, and the Dominican Republic.
