Kyle Dargan is an American writer and editor. He has written six books of poetry. Poetry is a type of writing that uses special language and rhythm to express ideas and feelings. Kyle Dargan teaches literature and creative writing at American University. He also works as a Books Editor for the Wondaland Arts Society.

Kyle Dargan was born in Newark, New Jersey, in the United States. He went to college at the University of Virginia. Later, he earned another degree from Indiana University.

Dargan's first four poetry books were published by the University of Georgia Press. His very first book, The Listening, came out in 2004. It won the Cave Canem Poetry Prize that same year. His second book, Bouquet of Hungers, was published in 2007. It received the Hurston/Wright Legacy Award for poetry in 2008.

He continued to write, and his book Logorrhea Dementia was released in 2010. Then, Honest Engine came out in 2015. Kyle Dargan's fifth book, Anagnorisis, was published in 2018. This book won a major award called the Lenore Marshall Poetry Prize from the Academy of American Poets.

Today, Kyle Dargan is a professor at American University. He helps students learn about literature and creative writing. He also started and edits a magazine called POST NO ILLS. Kyle Dargan lives in Washington D.C.
