Kyle Dalton Sandilands (born 10 June 1971) is a well-known Australian radio host and television personality. He is famous for co-hosting The Kyle and Jackie O Show with Jackie O. This popular weekday morning radio program is broadcast from Sydney on KIIS 106.5.
Kyle Sandilands has also been a judge on Australian Idol from 2005 to 2009, and again since 2023. In 2008, he hosted Big Brother with Jackie O. Later, in 2010, he became a judge on Australia's Got Talent and The X Factor in Australia.
In 2014, Kyle and Jackie O moved their show, The Kyle and Jackie O Show, to a new radio station, KIIS 106.5. This move was part of a deal with the ARN (Australian Radio Network). Kyle also appeared in the movie Fat Pizza vs. Housos in 2014.

Kyle's Radio Career
Kyle Sandilands started his radio journey in 1992 when he was 21. His first job was at 4TO Townsville, where he drove the station's promotional car. He quickly showed he was willing to work hard to succeed.
He took on different roles in places like Cairns and Darwin. He then joined Triple M in Brisbane. In 1999, he moved to Sydney and started at 2Day FM as the host of the Hot30 Countdown.
Kyle and his co-host Jackie O have won several awards. They were named "Best On-Air Team" at the Australian Commercial Radio Awards in 2006, 2007, 2011, and 2015. This shows how popular and successful their radio partnership has been.
In November 2023, it was announced that Kyle and Jackie O signed a huge 10-year deal. This record-breaking agreement means their show will also be broadcast in Melbourne.
Kyle on Television
Australian Idol
In 2005, Kyle Sandilands became a judge on Network Ten's Australian Idol. He was known for his strong opinions during the show. In August 2009, he left Idol because his radio show's content was seen as different from Idol's family-friendly image.
In September 2022, it was announced that Kyle would return as a judge for the Seven Network's new version of Australian Idol in 2023. He was the only judge from the original show to come back. He judged alongside Harry Connick Jr., Meghan Trainor, and Amy Shark.
The show was picked up for a ninth season in 2024. Kyle returned as a judge with Amy Shark. Later, Marcia Hines, an original Australian Idol judge, was also announced to return. This brought the show back to its original three-judge format.
Big Brother
In 2002, Kyle Sandilands was a contestant on Celebrity Big Brother in Australia. He finished in third place.
In 2008, Kyle and Jackie O became the hosts of the Big Brother season. The show's ratings for that season were lower than before. Network Ten decided not to continue the show after that season.
Australia's Got Talent
In January 2010, Kyle Sandilands joined Australia's Got Talent as a new judge. He judged alongside Brian McFadden for the show's fourth season.
The X Factor
In May 2010, Kyle Sandilands became one of the new judges on the second season of The X Factor Australia. He joined Ronan Keating, Guy Sebastian, and Natalie Imbruglia. On 16 March 2011, Kyle announced he would not return for the third season of The X Factor. He was replaced by Mel B.
Meet the Hockers
In 2017, Kyle Sandilands narrated a reality TV show called Meet the Hockers. This show was similar to Pawn Stars. Kyle also produced the series. It first aired on 9Go! on 16 May 2017.
Trial by Kyle
In 2018, Kyle Sandilands appeared in a pilot for a TV series called Trial by Kyle. This reality show was set in a courtroom. Kyle made judgments on real-life cases. He was helped by criminal lawyer Anna Heinrich. The pilot was successful and led to a full series in 2019.
Kyle's Personal Life
Kyle Sandilands has shared stories about his childhood. He grew up in Wynnum, Brisbane. When he was 10, his parents divorced. At 15, he left home after an incident with his stepfather's car. Later, at 17, he moved to Townsville to live with his aunt.
On 26 September 2008, Kyle married pop singer Tamara Jaber. They lived in St Ives in Sydney. However, they announced their split on 12 July 2010.
Kyle later had a relationship with Tegan Kynaston. In February 2022, they announced they were expecting a baby. Kyle became a father for the first time on 11 August 2022, when their son Otto was born. He named his radio co-host Jackie O as Otto's godmother.
Kyle Sandilands married Tegan Kynaston in April 2023. The wedding took place at Swifts, Darling Point in Sydney.
