Löhningen is a small town, also called a municipality, in the canton of Schaffhausen in Switzerland. It is a lovely place with a rich history and beautiful surroundings.

History of Löhningen
Löhningen was first mentioned in official records in the year 1112. Back then, it was called Loningen. There was another mention around 778–781 of a place called Loninga. However, it's not clear if this was the same Löhningen or a different village in Germany.
Geography and Nature
Löhningen covers an area of about 6.9 square kilometers (2.7 square miles). A large part of this land, about 53.5%, is used for farming. This means there are many fields and farms around. Another big part, 38.1%, is covered by forests, which are great for exploring!
About 8.3% of the land has buildings or roads. The rest is made up of rivers or lakes.
Löhningen is located in a region called Oberklettgau. It shares its borders with several other towns: Beringen, Guntmadingen, Neunkirch, Gächlingen, and Siblingen.
The town sits at the foot of the Randen mountain range. It is also surrounded by many vineyards, where grapes are grown to make wine.
