The Story of La Antilla
People first found La Antilla beach a long, long time ago, in the 1500s! This was around the same time a tower called Torre del Catalán was built nearby.
Later, in the late 1800s, local fishermen started building small, temporary homes here. They needed places to stay while they were fishing. By 1946, there were about 50 of these simple houses.
In recent years, some strong storms have changed the coastline. This has been made worse by other structures built along the nearby beaches.
