La Barra is a fun resort town located in the Maldonado Department of southeastern Uruguay. It's a popular spot for vacations and relaxing by the sea.
Exploring La Barra's Location
La Barra is found along Route 10. This road is south of where it meets the Ruta Interbalnearia. The western side of La Barra is right at the mouth of the Arroyo Maldonado river. Its southern side faces the big Atlantic Ocean.
Just to the west, across the river, is another area called San Rafael - El Placer. La Barra and San Rafael are connected by a famous bridge. This bridge is called Puente de Barra de Maldonado. It is well-known for its unique and interesting design. To the northwest, La Barra shares a border with the resort of El Tesoro. To the east, there's a neighborhood called "Barrio San Carlos." This neighborhood is just west of the resort Manantiales.
