La Cumbre, which means "The Summit," is a charming town and municipality in Colombia. It is located northwest of the big city of Cali. You can find it in the Valle del Cauca Department. This town sits high up in the West Andes mountains, just above the city of Yumbo.
La Cumbre is famous for its calm and simple way of life. It does not have the busy feel of a big city. Many tourists from Cali visit La Cumbre for a day trip. They often come by car or on a special tourist train. The weather here is much cooler than in Cali. This makes it a nice break from the hot and sunny days. The main way people make a living in La Cumbre is through farming.

Special Places in La Cumbre
The municipality of La Cumbre has different areas, each with its own unique features. One important area is called Bitaco.
Exploring Bitaco and Chicoral
The area known as Bitaco is in the southernmost part of La Cumbre. Inside Bitaco, there is a section called Chicoral. This place is home to the Hindú Tea Plantation. It also has the Bitaco Forest Reserve, which is a protected natural area.
Connecting to Dapa
The Bitaco area also connects to Dapa in the west. This connection happens through a foggy, forested path. This path crosses into the beautiful Cauca Valley.
