Myriopteris gracillima, also known as the lace lip fern, is a type of lip fern. It used to be called Cheilanthes gracillima.

This fern is found in western North America. It grows in rocky places. You can find it from British Columbia in Canada down to California in the United States. It also grows as far east as Montana.

About the Lace Lip Fern

The lace lip fern grows in bunches. Its leaves are a pretty green color. They can grow up to about 25 centimeters (about 10 inches) long.

Each leaf is divided into many tiny parts. These tiny parts are oval-shaped. They look a bit like small beads because their edges curl under. The leaves can also be quite hairy.

The fern's spores are found under the curled edges of these tiny leaf parts. Spores are like seeds for ferns. They help the fern reproduce and make new plants.
