Laeticia Amihere (born July 10, 2001) is a Canadian professional basketball player. She plays for the Perth Lynx in Australia's Women's National Basketball League (WNBL). She also plays for the Atlanta Dream in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) in the United States. Before turning pro, she played college basketball for the South Carolina Gamecocks.

Growing Up and Starting Basketball
Laeticia Amihere was born in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. Her father is from Ghana, and her mother is from Ivory Coast. She went to King's Christian Collegiate high school in Oakville, Ontario. When she was just 15 years old, Laeticia made history. She became the first Canadian female to dunk a basketball in a game!
Playing College Basketball
Laeticia joined the South Carolina Gamecocks women's basketball team in the 2019–20 season. This was her first year playing college basketball.
In March 2021, Laeticia had an amazing game against Texas. She scored 10 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. She also blocked 9 shots, which was a new record for her team in an NCAA Tournament game.
On November 11, 2021, she scored her highest points in a college game, with 18 points against Oregon. Laeticia helped her team win the NCAA championship in 2022. This was a huge achievement for her and the team. Her final college season was in 2022–23.
Professional Career
Joining the Atlanta Dream
In 2023, Laeticia was chosen by the Atlanta Dream in the 2023 WNBA draft. She was the eighth player picked in the first round. She played her first WNBA game on May 30, 2023, against the Chicago Sky. In her first season, she played in 21 games.
During the 2024 season, Laeticia continued to play for the Dream. She played in 16 games that year.
Playing for Perth Lynx
On September 18, 2024, Laeticia signed with the Perth Lynx. This team plays in the Women's National Basketball League (WNBL) in Australia. She will play for them in the 2024–25 season.
Playing for Team Canada
Representing Canada as a Junior
Laeticia has proudly played for Canada's national teams. As a junior player, she won a gold medal at the 2015 FIBA Americas Under-16 Championship for Women. She also won a bronze medal at the 2017 FIBA Under-19 Women's Basketball World Cup.
Playing for the Senior National Team
In June 2021, Laeticia was part of Team Canada for the 2021 FIBA Women's AmeriCup. The next month, in July 2021, she was chosen for Canada's Olympic team for the 2020 Summer Olympics.
In September 2022, she played for Team Canada in the 2022 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup. Laeticia also competed for Canada at the 2024 Summer Olympics.
